Annette Kluzak

Where were you born?

Waterville, Maine and summers in Rockwood, Maine (Moosehead
Lake)

Can you give me the basics of your career background?

In addition to attending UMA the education received through APICS training and certification has proven invaluable to my career. Specifically, Sales and Operations Planning, Management of Critical Resources, Inventory Control and Management, and Master Planning of Resources. I’ve been in the PVF industry for 19 years, 5 with Burns Cascade and the last 14 years with Collins.

How did you get into the industry?

My brother-in-law worked for an engineering firm that was leasing space to Burns Cascade. I was looking for a new job after being with GE / EST for 12 years. He told me the lessee had an opening, but he wasn’t sure I would be interested. He told me they sold PVF. (Honestly, I didn’t even know what PVF stood for!) I was curious so I applied and was hired. And this is where my story began.

What's your favorite part about working in the pvf industry?

My favorite part about working in the PVF Industry are the challenges that are presented to me and being able to help find solutions for our customers, it is very satisfying. And, there are not many dull moments.

What kind of passions do you pursue outside of work?

My passions outside of work include hunting, fishing, watching baseball games, travel, camping, hiking, cooking and anything fun and interesting.

What was your most favorite/least favorite trip and why?

My most favorite trip was to Key West. During this week-long vacation with Bob, we rented bicycles and traveled throughout the area on them. There are many different types of activities to do in Key West, museums to see, boardwalk entertainment, evening cruises, they have it all, it’s like an adult Disney!

We had so much fun we lost track of the days. When we went to catch our flight home, I couldn’t understand why our tickets wouldn’t print at the Kios, so I went to the ticket agent, and she said that the flight was for the previous day! We had missed our flight home by 24hrs!!

What can you do but laugh about it! I’ve had many trips and can’t think of any not being enjoyable or my least favorite because they all have something special about them, so I suppose my least favorite hasn’t happened yet.

Anything else that you would like to share?

I have one daughter that has blessed me with five grandchildren.

All are happy and healthy and live less than 10 miles from me. We have four
dogs, three of which are working bird dogs but are pets when they are home and the fourth is Rosco, my fur baby.
